A 7-year-old Filipino child who lives with his Filipino mother in her sponsor’s house in Saudi Arabia speaks fluent Arabic despite his mother’s attempts to teach him English or Filipino.
According to his mother, Othman does not understand what she says when she speaks to him in English or Filipino.
Othman, who is named after his sponsor, has learnt mathematics, science and Qur’an. His sponsor said that he looks after him for humanitarian and religious reasons.
Othman’s father used to work with his wife in Hail but he moved around two years ago to work in southern Saudi Arabia.
