Iraqi MP and head of the Civilian Alliance, Faek El Sheikh Ali, called for all alcohol lovers to support and vote for him in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
During a speech at a press conference in Baghdad, the MP reminded the Iraqi drinkers of the time he was the only one to stand by them.
Ali was the first to oppose the ban on the sale of alcohol: ‘ No one has stood by you since the creation of Iraq, 8,000 years ago … stand by my side as I stood by yours’’.
He also empathized how all other politicians were too afraid to vote against the ban.
The Iraqi elections will be held on May 12.
