A photo of a woman found dead in her makeshift car-turned-home in Beirut’s Basta neighborhood has been making the rounds on social media.

Local media reported that the woman, identified as Fatima Mohammed Othman, caught the attention of both the authorities as well as the public after nearly 1.7 billion Lebanese pounds were found on her person.

Future TV website reported that Fatima originally hails from the Ain el Dahab trail of Lebanon’s northern Akkar region. Her family claimed the body on Tuesday and buried her in their hometown.

Beirut’s Basta residents said Fatima, 52, told Gulf News that she had been living on their street for more than 20 years and that rented the car she lived in from a man in the neighborhood.

According to Lebanese National Media Agency, the last photograph of Fatima while she was alive went viral showing a moment between her and a soldier who was giving her water during the day.

Police confirmed to several Lebanese media outlets that the woman had died from natural causes.
