The Saudi Ports Authority has shared a video from 1939, documenting the moment Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated the first shipment of Saudi oil from the Ras Tanura port.
The video shows King Abdulaziz leaving Dhahran for Ras Tanura and was met with a reception on arrival. He is seen opening the valve of the oil tanker, before boarding the ship and greeting the crew.
The next day, the ruler of Bahrain arrived to congratulate King Abdulaziz's first shipment of oil from the kingdom.
