Abu Dhabi’s crown prince brings grandchildren to meeting with Chinese president
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces, greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping at Qasr al-Bahr in Abu Dhabi, bringing along his children and grandchildren to the meeting.
A video of the uncommon incident was widely circulated on social media, where several users expressed their surprise and happiness at the sheikh's decision to bring his family members along.
“I am honored to host my dear friend, President Xi Jinping at Qasr Al Bahr. Nice and special moments filled with a sense of familiarity, passion and good talks brought together myself, my children and my grandchildren with his highness… There was no absence of great optimism for more partnerships between our countries,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said on Instagram, sharing a video of the meeting.
Chinese President Xi Jinping left the UAE on Saturday, after an official visit that lasted for 3 days.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan bid the Chinese President farewell, as he left the presidential airport in Abu Dhabi.
The United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China signed a number of agreements and memorandums related to gas and oil exploration in the Emirati Capital Abu Dhabi worth $1.6 billlion.
The two countries also signed an agreement to establish a “trade market” at Dubai Jebal Ali Free Zone sectors, the biggest in the region.
