A driver lost control over his car and crashed into an ATM booth at a mall in Dubai this week, causing minor injuries to two people, including the driver.
CCTV footage showed at least five men inside the booth running to safety as the car crashed through the window into the bank.
According to the motorist, he crashed into the bank accidentally as he was trying to avoid another car that had suddenly swerved ahead of him. However, instead of braking, he hit the accelerator.
Lt-Colonel Faisal Al Qasim, head of the police's general department of media, was quoted by local newspaper Khaleej Times as saying said that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, nor using his mobile phone.
"Negligence and not paying attention while driving caused the crash," Lt-Col Al Qasim said, adding that the driver has been referred to Dubai Traffic Prosecution.
