Teen model’s prosthetic leg doesn’t stop her from competing for Miss Italy

A teenage model who has made it to the finals of the Miss Italy contest was trolled by online bullies for participating in the competition with a prosthetic leg.

Chiara Bordi, 18, snapped the third place after competing side-by-side to fellow Italian beauties at the pageant held last week.

But despite being named Miss Etruria 2018, Bordi has faced a torrent of insults by those who thought she should’t get into the competition "just because she’s crippled."

Bordi reportedly lost her leg in a bike accident in 2013.

Describing herself a bionic model, she thanked her supporters on Instagram for defending her right to participate after the contest.

And to those who criticized her participation, she replied by saying: “I’m missing a leg, but you’re missing a heart and brain,” Bordi wrote on her Facebook page.

“There are all sorts of frustrations and dissatisfactions behind this nastiness,” she added. “I’m not interested in winning, but showing the world that life is still beautiful (even) when reborn after a dramatic event.”
