Two workers were rescued from the 21st floor of an Abu Dhabi building after they almost fell off a platform while cleaning the windows, police said on Friday.

The police's rapid intervention team rushed to the scene, with an ambulance closely behind, where they had to break the glass window to save them.

According to a Gulf News report, the directorate received a call that two workers were trapped on a platform on the 21st floor of a building.

Ibrahim Ali Jalal Al Baloushi, Director of the Rapid Intervention Department, urged contracting companies to conduct periodic maintenance of scaffolding and to ensure the safety of workers.

He stressed the importance of training workers and providing safety devices to avoid accidents.
