How artificial intelligence helped Dubai Police track faces of 550 criminals
Dubai Police has used a system powered by artificial intelligence to recognize the faces of 550 criminals in 2018 so far, according to local media.
Of these 550, 109 were ‘wanted’ criminals, while 441 were suspects in different crimes, the Dubai-based Khaleej Times newspaper reported this week.
The facial recognition system is able to flag wanted criminals and suspects. It can also identify vehicle plate numbers, Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police for criminal investigation was quoted as saying.
