Coronavirus: Panama police dance and sing to support the population in lockdown
In uniform and with masks, Panama’s police force danced and performed various songs to entertain the capital’s residents who are locked in to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There are certain sanitary rules that we have to follow, and they are in their apartment, they don’t have much space and we try to bring them some happiness, joy, hope, faith and will so that they never feel lessened,” Felipe Cruz, a member of National Police, said.
“We will continue to do this every weekend until we have killed the coronavirus, and it doesn’t do it to us (kill),” Cruz added.
The residents appreciated the initiative and encouraged more of the same.
“Very good, very good initiative by the national police to get involved with the people, with the people who are at home, where they need to be, and I think they should do it every Sunday,” said Ruben Pinzon, a Panama City resident.
