Al Arabiya’s New York Bureau Chief Talal al-Haj interviews Elpida Rouka, one of the senior political advisers Special Envoy Staffan De Mistura. He discusses with her the sacrifices of humanitarian workers in areas of armed conflict. Rocca narrowly escaped the suicide attack on the UN headquarters in Baghdad on August 19, 2003, killing twenty-two UN staff, including the head of the UN mission, veteran Brazilian diplomat Sergio Vieira de Mello.

Al-Haj discusses, also, with Saskia Blume, a policy specialist on migration and displacement at UNICEF, how human trafficking is still a major global issue, and how the UN is tackling it.
