Saudi student murder puzzles British police

Published: Updated:

The mysterious death of a Saudi girl in the UK this week has puzzled British police.

The 32-year-old student was found on Tuesday bleeding to death in a park near the University of Essex, where she was studying.

Police suspect that the reason behind killing Nahed al-Manea, who had been in the UK for less than a year, may be religiously motivated.

Steve Worron, of Essex Police, says there was no evidence of the killing being a hate crime, but that it is "one of the main lines" of inquiry.
