Perth beachgoers got the fright of their lives this week when a Great White shark chasing a sea lion approached just one meter from the shore line. A video was uploaded onto YouTube of the beast frantically wriggling around throwing sand and water all over as he fought his way into the meaty sea lion.
The animal was found dead moments later washed ashore Coronation beach just after having devoured the large sea lion. The Western Australian Department of Fisheries confirmed the shark was neither injured nor diseased. However, they discovered a large chunk of sea lion carcass stuck deep within its throat. Choking was the probable cause of death.
