A helicopter that was on its way back from a search and rescue operation in South Korea exploded into a ball of fire after crashing into a block of flats in the southeast of the country with all passengers on board believed to have been killed.
The incident was caught on video and shows the search and rescue helicopter exploding into a fireball after crashing into a block of flats in Gwangju, South Korea’s sixth-largest city.
The helicopter had been deployed in the search for the 11 people still missing following a ferry disaster in April, the UK Daily Mail reported.
None of the chopper’s five occupants are believed to have survived, the daily said. Only one person on the ground received minor injuries after she was hit by the debris, it added.
