The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) released a video this week showing displaced Iraqi religious minority groups who were forced to flee their homes, after militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants seized three northern communities from government control.
The four-minute long video shows a day in the life of displaced Iraqis and their struggle to fight harsh living conditions.
Since Sunday, as many as 190,000 people have crossed into Iraq’s Kurdistan region, with thousands more expected to arrive in the coming days, officials in the region said.
