Russell Brand slams British govt over terrorism crackdown

Published: Updated:

UK-comedian Russell Brand has led a fierce attack on the British government, saying it is using the threat of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to impose terror measures on the domestic population.

In a video uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday, Brand said: “The threat of ISIS is conceptual and abstract,” adding “unless you’re in Syria.”

In London, Brand says “the threat of David Cameron however, is real.”

Referring to the escalating crisis in Iraq as ISIS militants fight in the country, Brand said: “We’ve caused this problem, make no bones about it.”
