Video: Vehicle bursts into flames near Kobane after air strike

Published: Updated:

The U.S. Central Command published on Saturday a video showing what it said was a strike against a Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) near the Syrian town of Kobane that is besieged by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militant group.

The black-and-white video shows a vehicle moving at a high velocity along a road that is being track from the air. The vehicle explodes in the ball of fire a few seconds later.

The U.S. Central Command said the strike, which was conducted on Oct. 21, was part of “Operation Inherent Resolve” against ISIS.

“The destruction of ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq further limits the terrorist group’s ability to project power and conduct operations,” it said on its YouTube page.
