Russian air strikes targeting sites inside Syria

Published: Updated:

Once Russia announced its military intervention in Syria through direct air strikes, the opposition announced that these raids launched by Russian warplanes in three governorates resulted in dozens of dead, mostly civilians, according to the Syrian opposition.

Washington, which woke up at Russian intervention after getting the green light from the parliament, said that the Russian raids did not target ISIS, and that they are useless, according to the US Secretary of State John Kerry, amid emphasis that Russia will not impose a military solution in Syria.

Putin rushed to defend the decision of direct intervention by saying that Moscow will not wait for the arrival of terrorism to its territory, while Russian military leaders announced that Moscow had asked Washington to evacuate the Syrian airspace.
