Bahraini Interior Ministry announced foiling a terrorist plot that was about to target the security of the kingdom, as the competent authorities detected a terrorist cell that was planning to carry out a series of bombings in the country.

Bahrain identified the members of the cell that is called Al-Bassah group, and is considered the armed wing of the so-called al-Wafa' Islam party.

The authorities revealed that the terrorist cell is linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah and is supported by both organizations, as one of the cell members traveled to Iran, a few years ago, to secure financial and logistical support for the implementation of the terrorist plans in Bahrain.

Moreover, the members of the cell travelled to Lebanon to obtain financial support from Hezbollah in order to continue their terrorist activities. The information indicates that Hezbollah's Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah provided the cell with twenty thousand dollars.
