Iran - al-Qaeda - ISIS: controversial ties

Iran's stance that strongly refuses the execution of cleric Nemer al-Nemer, who was convicted of terrorism, raised many questions about the relationship between Iran and the terrorist organizations.

This relationship is based on the fact that these organizations, and especially Al-Qaeda, avoid launching any operation against Iranian interests in the inside or outside. Iran's relationship with Al-Qaeda kept raising questions and different analysis for decades. The Iranian regime opened its doors to the organization's leaders, despite the ideological and intellectual large gap between the two sides, and the number of the organization's leaders harbored by Iran summed up to about five hundreds.
