Tehran talks about a ‘suspicion’ in the Saudi embassy attack

Published: Updated:

As the scope of international condemnation and diplomatic isolation, which Tehran is facing as a result of the attack on the Saudi embassy and consulate, is increasing, Iranian officials started talking about the presence of suspicion over the attack against the two diplomatic representations, pointing out that the investigations are underway to determine this in the framework of flinging accusations at outlaws or infiltrators.

Early on, President Rouhani asked the Interior Minister to act decisively to reveal the identities of those involved and bring them to the judiciary for the enforcement of justice. For his part, the Commander of the Iranian Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General Hussein Ishtri, considered the storming of the Saudi Embassy a suspicious issue, adding that it will be followed up at two levels: in the framework of the internal security forces and at the level of other concerned bodies.
