The Iraqi authorities executed Saudi national Abdulla Azzam Al-Qahtani in Al-Nasseriya prison in Southern Baghdad.

He is the second Saudi national to be executed in Iraq after Mazin Nashi Masawi, who was executed in 2012.

He was arrested in 2009 after he entered Iraq and spent seven years in prison on charges of terrorism.

The Saudi Embassy in Baghdad is making necessary arrangements to send his body to Riyadh, reported Arabic daily Al-Hayat.
