Watch: Egyptian foreign minister shuns Erdogan

The diplomatic rift between Turkey and Egypt continued to grow on Thursday when the Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry, snubbed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Shoukry avoided shaking hands with Erdogan during the handover between the two countries of the presidency of the Islamic Cooperation summit, which was held in Istanbul.

After finishing his speech the Egyptian foreign minister failed to wait until the arrival of the Turkish president and left the podium, avoiding shaking hands with Erdogan.

According to an Egyptian official, Shoukry immediately returned to Cairo after handing over the presidency on behalf of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi
