Mexican authorities found 112 undocumented migrants, including four babies, who were transported inside a cargo truck on a road in the southeast of the country, the state attorney general said Sunday. The migrants, 23 of them minors, were spotted when investigators heard voices from inside the vehicle, which was equipped with fans and water, the Attorney General's Office said in a statement. The arrest of the unit occurred on a road connecting the state of Chiapas, on the southern border, with its neighbor Tabasco, one of the routes followed each year by thousands of migrants, mostly Central Americans, in their attempt to reach states United fleeing poverty and violence. The people, who came from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Ecuador, were placed in the hands of the National Institute of Migration, while the driver of the truck was arrested.
