Two injured in Dubai, Abu Dhabi after drones intercepted

Two people have been injured in UAE’s Dubai as a result of drone debris, Dubai’s media office announced on Sunday after fresh blasts were heard across the Gulf cities after a day of Iranian strikes in retaliation for US and Israeli attacks.

“Authorities confirmed that debris from drones intercepted by air defenses fell in the courtyards of two homes in Dubai, resulting in two injuries,” Dubai’s media office said in a post on X.

“The injured have received the necessary medical care. Authorities also clarified that the sounds heard across the emirate were the result of successful interception operations.”

Meanwhile, relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi were dealing with an incident involving the fall of debris from a drone after it was intercepted by air defence systems onto the façade of one of the buildings at Etihad Towers.

The incident resulted in minor injuries to a woman and her child, as well as minor material damage.

The authorities clarified that the sounds heard across the emirate were due to the successful interception operations and urged the public not to spread rumours or misleading information, and to obtain information from official sources only, assuring that updates will be announced as soon as they become available.
