Personal data is any information relating to natural persons who can be identified, directly or indirectly. We may collect, use, store and transfer the following types of personal data:

  • Location Data: geographical information about the user’s specific device's whereabouts associated to a time identifier

We collect and process your Personal Data for the following purposes:

    • To allow you to share information; allow you to take full advantage of the sharing features that we offer such as the participation in viewer forums and discussion boards, engagement with 2nd screen co-viewing apps; allow you to create a publicly visible MEN Profile, which may – if you choose - include your name and photo; combine personal data from one service with information from other MEN services to make it easier to share things with people you know.
    • To carry out payment transactions; store transaction history; make sure that your subscription to our services has been paid; comply with legal or regulatory obligation in this respect.
  • when it is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests of our business, particularly:
    • To maintain and improve our services; understand how you use the MEN services and implement other functionalities; develop new services and offers.

    • To detect and prevent online fraud and intrusions when we implement certain monitoring or tracking devices implying the processing of Personal Data.
  • when it is necessary for the protection of your vital interests or of another natural person.

6. Where may your personal data be stored or transferred?

MEN Group is a multinational group with affiliates, partners and subcontractors located in many countries around the world. That means that your personal data may need to be processed in countries whose data protection laws may be of a lower standard than those in your home country.

We process and store your personal information on our computers and servers located in UAE, and use service providers that may be located in various locations, such as Canada, Germany, UK .Where this is the case, we will take steps to ensure that your personal data receives an adequate level of protection.

If you are located in the European Union and your personal data is transferred to a service provider for processing in any country outside the European Economic Area that is not recognized by the EU Commission as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, we ensure that appropriate safeguards (e.g. contractual commitments) under the applicable data protection law are provided.

7. How do we ensure the security of your personal data?

We maintain appropriate physical, electronic, technical, organizational procedural safeguards and security measures, including governance models, to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure or destruction of personal data.

8. How long do we keep your personal data?

We will only retain your personal data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. Our retention periods are based on business needs and your information that is no longer needed is either irreversibly anonymized or destroyed.

Your personal data collected though our websites will be retained as long as your account is active or otherwise for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which we have initially collected it. If you deactivate your account, we will retain your data for 2 years, starting from data of deactivation.
Please note that we may also retain your personal data for longer periods if necessary, to comply with our legal obligations or to protect our legitimate interests.

9. Do we collect and process minors’ personal data?

In order to subscribe to MEN services and provide us with your personal information you must be 18 years of age or older to satisfy the minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction.

Individuals under the age of 18 or the minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction may also utilize MEN services if their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent is given. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor under the age of 18 or under the minimum age provided by the law and we have not been provided with the parent’s or legal guardian’s consent, we will promptly delete that information.

Right of Access: You have the right to access to your personal data. You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. There are situations where we may deny your request, for example, if making the information available to you would reveal personal data about another person, or if we are legally prevented from disclosing such information

Right to Rectification: It is our objective to keep your personal data accurate, current and complete. You have the right to request the correction of any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us.

Right to Erasure: You have the right to ask us to delete your personal data where there is no reason to continue processing it. You also have the right to ask us to delete your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to the processing, where we may have processed your data unlawfully or where we need to delete your personal data to comply with the law. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request for deletion for specific legal reasons for which we will notify you, as appropriate, at the time of your request.

Right to Withdraw Your Consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal of consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.

Right to file a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

Right of access: You have the right to access to your personal data. You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Right to erasure: In certain situations, you have the right to ask us to delete your personal data unless our processing is specifically permitted under the CCPA.

Right of disclosure for sale of data or use for business purpose: In certain circumstances, you can ask us to provide you with the categories personal data and third parties we disclose for sale or business purposes. We do not sell your personal data under any circumstances. This right may apply only where we disclose your personal data for a business purpose.

Data portability: In certain circumstances, you can ask us to transfer your personal data to you or to another party in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.

Right to opt-out: You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal data to other third parties. Given that we do not sell your personal data under any circumstances, this right does not apply to your personal data.
