Video: Clashes intensify in Syria's Qusayr
Clashes between forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad, aided by Hezbollah, and rebels intensified as they fought to seize Syrian town of Qusayr on Friday.
Online footage shows a whole row of houses demolished after shelling in Qusayr on Thursday with fires still raging within the shattered buildings.
Brigades of rebels have joined the battle for Qusayr. Some were filmed firing on enemy positions with rocket-propelled grenades.
Plumes of white and black smoke rose over nearby Daba military airport, which rebels claimed was under their control.
State media said the army had killed eight people they described as terrorists in Daba.
More than 80,000 people have been killed in what is now a full-scale civil war that has dragged in Lebanon’s Hezbollah guerrillas and is spilling into other neighboring countries.
