Pakistani PM condemns Houthi attacks in call with Saudi Crown Prince

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the latest Houthis attacks in the Red Sea in a call with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday.

“At the beginning of the call, the Pakistani Prime Minister reiterated the condemnation and rejection by his country of the attack the Houthi militia launched on a Saudi ship, and its threat to free sea shipping in the Red Sea,” a statement by the Saudi foreign ministry read, adding that Sharif assured Pakistan’s unwavering and decisive support for the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty.

The ministry also said that the two leaders also reviewed regional developments and efforts undertaken to ease tension and strengthen security and stability in the region.

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis on Thursday targeted and damaged the Saudi-owned vessel ENCELIA after previously announcing to impose a blockade on international shipping in the Red Sea.
