Sussex Police confirmed the arrest of a 66-year-old man on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child.

Caplin was suspended from the Labour Party in May 2024 due to undisclosed “serious allegations,” which he has denied.

The video shows a man wearing a black trench coat and red cap being detained by police.

Caplin, who served as the MP for Hove from 1997 to 2005, has denied all allegations, according to UK media reports.

During his political career, Caplin was appointed assistant government whip in 2001 and later served as a junior defense minister and Minister for Veterans at the Ministry of Defense.

He was suspended from Labour in May 2024 and is no longer a party member.
