Xi says China, Chile should defend common interests of Global South, Xinhua reports

China President Xi Jinping on Wednesday told his Chilean counterpart that the two countries should strengthen cooperation and defend the common interests of the Global South, China’s state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

China and Chile should deepen cooperation in fields including agriculture, industrial investment, infrastructure and green minerals, Xi said in his meeting with Chilean President Gabriel Boric.

During Boric’s visit to Beijing, the two sides signed bilateral cooperation documents in economy, publishing, and inspection and quarantine, Xinhua reported.
