Hong Kong’s security chief said on Monday the city took “law enforcement measures” to protect national security in the wake of the deadly high-rise fire, following reports that police made sedition arrests.

Secretary of Security Chris Tang said there had been “inaccurate comments online” with the sole purpose of “threatening national security.”

“Therefore, we must take appropriate measures, including law enforcement measures. Operational details cannot be disclosed as they involve national security,” Tang told a news conference.
