Before & after coronavirus: Mecca, Milan, Beirut images show effects of outbreak
Before and after satellite and still photographs of landmarks worldwide like in Mecca, Milan and Beijing show the impact coronavirus is having around the globe.
So far, the virus has infected more than 196,000 people so far across the world, while the death toll is currently at over 7,800.
In Saudi Arabia said its mosques would no longer receive worshippers for daily prayers or Friday congregations. In Mecca and Medina specifically, Saudi Arabia halted all prayers in the outer courtyards of the Two Holy Mosques as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to contain the coronavirus.
In Iraq, a total nationwide lockdown until March 28 was imposed to fight the novel coronavirus. Despite the lockdown, tens of thousands of Iraqi Shias were still turning out to commemorate a revered imam last Saturday, defying curfews imposed to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
