Judge releases A$AP Rocky from custody until assault trial verdict
The Swedish judge in the assault trial of US rapper A$AP Rocky and two of his entourage ordered that the three men be released from custody on Friday until the verdict.
Senior District Court Judge Per Lennerbrant told the court at the end of the three-day trial that he would hand down the verdict on August 14.
The US performer, producer and model’s real name is Rakim Mayers.
Mayers and two of his friends were detained on July 3 in connection with a street brawl on June 30 and charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
President Donald Trump said on Friday that the rapper is on his way back to the United States after being released from jail in Sweden.
“A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden. It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!” Trump tweeted.
