Media preparations are underway in the Saudi Arabian holy city of Mecca where Gulf and Arab summits will take place on May 30, with an expected 390 international journalists and 59 global channels set to attend.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Media Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah said 13 teams of professionals are working around the clock to facilitate the process for regional and international media outlets.
The Ministry of Media has set up four media centers and a special exhibition at the headquarters of the journalists in Mecca and Jeddah, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The exhibition includes eleven governmental pavilions to highlight the country’s achievements and developments.
Dr. Fahd bin Hassan Al-Eqran, Chairman of the Media Committee of the three summits, said that, upon the directives of the Minister of Media, all necessary preparations are in place “to achieve unprecedented media coverage for the global events in Mecca”, which will be attended by 57 heads of state.
