Egypt lost 85-64 to Serbia in their opening Group A match of the FIBA World Cup on Saturday. The loss came after the North African country entered the tournament for the first time in 20 years.

Haytham Kamal, Egypt's best performer according to Ahram Online, scored eight points and made two assists. Other main players who played well against Serbia were Ibrahim El-Gammal and Mostafa El Mekawi.

Egypt is set to play hosts Spain on Sunday.
