Jordan qualifies for FIFA World Cup for the first time
Jordan booked its place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a commanding 3-0 victory over Oman, thanks to a hat-trick from Ali Olwan. This win secured Jordan a spot in the top two of Group B, marking a significant achievement for the team as they move closer to their first-ever World Cup appearance.
The Taeguk Warriors of South Korea also confirmed their 11th consecutive World Cup qualification after a 2-0 win against Iraq, which helped clear the path for Jordan’s advancement. South Korea’s victory was aided by an early red card to Iraq’s Ali Al-Hamadi, and goals from Kim Jin-gyu and Oh Hyeon-gyu sealed the result.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan continued to make history by qualifying for the World Cup for the first time after securing a 0-0 draw against the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.
