Iran has arrested five people who were behind the production of a prank video showing eggplants falling from the sky in Tehran, state media reported on Monday.
A video showing eggplants falling from the sky in the Iranian capital went viral on social media on Sunday.
“The police have identified and arrested the individuals behind a video on social media showing eggplants raining down in Tehran,” state media quoted a Tehran police official as saying.
“There were five of them … these individuals claimed they were conducting research in special effects when one of their clips was accidentally released on social media,” said Ali Zolghadr.
The arrested individuals have insisted they are not affiliated with any political group, Zolghadr added.
