UAE court sentences man to death for rape, murder of 11-year-old boy

A man found guilty of raping and killing his nephew earlier this year was sentenced to death on Monday.

The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court found the man guilty of raping and murdering 11-year-old Azan Majid Janjua, whose body was found on the rooftop of the building in the UAE capital where his family lived.

The court also sentenced the man to pay blood money to the boy’s relatives.

The killer had lured the boy to the rooftop while dressed in a burka, CCTV images from the building revealed.
