Trump announces Israel-Hamas deal to end Gaza war, release hostages
US President Donald Trump announced late Wednesday that Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of the Gaza peace plan.
“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

He reiterated previous comments that all parties would be treated fairly and thanked Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for their mediation efforts.
“This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America,” Trump said.
Shortly after his post, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry stated that the deal had been reached on all provisions and implementation mechanisms of the first phase.
The agreement will lead to ending the war, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and the entry of aid, the ministry’s spokesman said.
He added that details would be announced later.
