Information Minister Paul Morcos said the country’s cabinet had decided to “prevent any activity” that members of the Iran Guards “may carry out from Lebanese territory... and to have them detained by the competent judiciary to deport them.”
He added that Iranians would now require a visa to enter Lebanon.
Hezbollah, Iran-backed militant group, dragged Lebanon into the regional war on Monday when it launched an attack on Israel.
The Israeli military earlier this week issued a threat against Iranian regime representiatives in Lebanon, warning them that they will be targeted if they do not leave the country within 24 hours.
The Israeli army warned that it will not tolerate the presence of representatives of the Iranian regime in Lebanon, army spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X adding that Israel “will grant regime representatives currently in Lebanon 24 hours to leave the country. After that, there will be no safe place,” for them in the country.
