Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

During the call, the two leaders discussed regional developments and “ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability, as well as ensuring maritime security and freedom of navigation,” SPA said.

They also reviewed areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France and discussed ways to support and strengthen ties across a number of sectors, according to the agency.

The call also covered “a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest,” it added.
