Hong Kong to set up HK$300 million fund to aid housing complex residents

Hong Kong leader John Lee said on Thursday the government will set up a HK$300 million ($38.57 million) fund to help residents of a housing development that a huge fire ripped through, killing at least 55 people and leaving nearly 300 missing.

Lee said the city’s development bureau had also discussed gradually replacing bamboo scaffolding across the city with metal scaffolding.
