Saudi ambassador to US thanks President Bush for ‘warm reception’
Saudi ambassador to the United States Prince Khalid bin Salman on Monday responded to a tweet by former US President George H. W. Bush after the president had welcomed Prince Khalid and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to his residence in Texas last week.
“It was my great pleasure to accompany HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his meeting with you Mr. President and to have the opportunity to discuss our historic Saudi-US partnership. Thank you for a warm reception in your home,” Prince Khalid tweeted.
On the occasion, the senior Bush tweeted expressing his delight at the “wonderful chance to celebrate the long-standing friendship between our two nations.”
He also mentioned that “the 43rd President [George W. Bush] and Jim Baker”, the former US Secretary of State and White House Chief of Staff, were also present during the occasion.
