A senior leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula was killed in a US air strike on Sunday in Yemen, the Pentagon said in a statement on Friday.

AQAP leader Abd al-Ghani al-Rasas was killed in the air strike in a remote area of al Bayda Governorate in Yemen, Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said in the statement.
