Robots to assist in building homes in Saudi Arabia

Is Saudi Arabia going to be the first country in the world to use Australian company Fastbrick Robotics’ Hadrian X robots for its mass housing program?

Hadrian X robot prototype has already demonstrated its capability “to build the walls of a test home within days”, according to a report in The West Australian!

Saudi Arabia is striving to build affordable homes for its citizens, the majority of whom are young. The government has plans to build 1.5 million homes over the next five years, estimated to cost over $100 billion.

The Saudi housing ministry had been striking deals abroad, especially with Asian companies in China and Korea to address the country’s affordable housing shortage.

One of the MoUs signed has been with an Australian tech company called Fastbrick Robotics based in Perth to supply about 100 home-building robots.

Fastbrick Robotics has the unique technology of using automated bricklaying with which around 50,000 homes can be constructed in Saudi Arabia.
