Abu Sayyaf, the notorious ISIS fighter known for decapitating hundreds in Iraq, was used in many videos published by the extremist militant group.

The man known as the ‘ISIS executioner” is now believed to have been killed by an unknown assailant in Nineveh. Incidentally, a militant group in the Philippines known for beheading and kidnapping innocent people are also titled “Abu Sayyaf.”

According to reports, the ISIS man Abu Sayyaf was stabbed by anonymous attackers in the western side of Nineveh. He had become famous after he collected the heads of his victims and threw them into a famous pit in Mosul.

Mohammad Yawar, an Iraqi journalist for the ARA network said: “Abu Sayyaf is one of the top gruesome men in Nineveh, he’s known for having huge hands, wide body frame, and one of the well-known faces in footages published by ISIS.”

He explained: “He depicted a reflection of the brutality of the terrorist group.”
