Syrian singer Assala responds to drug allegations
The Syrian singer Assala Nasri responded to drug accusations on Tuesday, after she was arrested at Beirut airport for allegedly carrying drugs.
Assala said in the Facebook post that “even though the last hours were hard, I am delighted with the amount of love I received from the public.”
“I am not used to explaining myself or even being accused… not only because of my self-confidence, but since I was six I had someone taking care of me.”
The singer expressed her love for Beirut and thanked many Lebanese leaders for their support.
She also thanked her fans who defended her and said “yellow press” does not exist, but there are “yellow journalists working in the press.”
Assala concluded saying that she will return to Beirut when she misses it.
