WATCH: Video of Moroccan minister being buried in hot sand goes viral

A video circulating on social media this week has shown Morocco's energy minister up to his neck in sand in the heart of the country’s desert.

Aziz Rebbah chose to be buried in hot sand to help treat his body from joint pain, according to local reports.

In the video, a man was seen shoveling the sand on the minister’s body in a pit.

Rebbah wore a summer hat and placed a cloth on his face as protection from the scorching sun.

A man who appeared to be filming the video is heard jokingly saying: "The minister of energy is benefiting from some solar and sand energy!"
