Saudi minister of culture appoints supervisor for Historic Jeddah Project
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan issued a decree appointing Abdulaziz al-Issa as the official supervisor of the Historic Jeddah Project.
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a Royal Order in June approving a proposal by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to establish a Historical Old Jeddah Project Management that reports to the Ministry of Culture and allocate an independent budget toward the project.
The Historic Jeddah Project is also an extension of the development of historical areas such as the Gate of Al-Dariyah and the Royal Commission for the development of Al-Ula, improving, developing, and preserving its environment and its historical value.
Issa has accumulated experience in strategic planning, investment and risk management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Menlo College in the US.
Issa previously held several positions in Saudi Arabia’s leading financial institutions. He is the chairman of the investment company Batec, and the chairman of UBS in Saudi Arabia and a board member at Savola Group, a leading strategic investment holding group for food and retail.
