Trump says his Gulf visit a ‘historic’ one

US President Donald Trump has described his upcoming visit to the Gulf a “historic” trip, as he prepares to depart for Saudi Arabia on his first official foreign tour.

“I am heading today to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE on a historic visit,” Trump said in a news conference on Monday.

The US president is expected to arrive in Riyadh on Tuesday morning kicking off his three-day visit to the Middle East which includes Qatar and the UAE.

During his trip to the Kingdom, Trump is expected to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for talks. The US-Saudi cooperation will be culminated during the Saudi-US Investment Forum. On Wednesday, the US president will join a GCC-US summit.
